Jadened

The Roots Gaea Sows

A fresh layer of brown fence paint
Sparkles every color of the spectrum;
The same sunset that clasps the dirt-rich lake faintly.
The iridescent paint will dry, safeguarding until crumble–
From the lakewaters’ womb shall surface life of all colors–
So blessed be this mother.

I met a woman whose skin shone that same shade
Her smile shined some new spectrum of sunlight,
And though it did so fade,
when came thundering rain, crashing to fight,
Still arose her rainbow after,
Her woes wrought to laughter.

She has born within me a strength soft and tougher,
Bloomed a desire to love braver when I suffer.
I wish someday she will find her wreath garnered,
So blessed be this Gaea.
