Catatonic

A Limerick Just for Laughs

There was once a man whose malady’s chronic
His doctor prescribed a suspicious-looking tonic
He complied religiously
Every day consistently
But then after several days, he became catatonic

The doctor, in shock, said, “I think it’s bubonic,
But don’t you worry, there’s no need to panic!”
The Doc switched the dose
But he turned comatose
Then he sat up; his behavior became histrionic!

After a while, he bounced out of bed, feeling slick
Then he said aloud, “That tonic’s a magical trick!”
Now he jogs every day,
Shouting, “Hip-hip-hooray!”
As it turns out, all that he needed was a kick!

Now he’s a health guru, and he’s quite hypnotic
He sells a suspicious tonic as something exotic
But one day he tripped,
And the bottle he flipped—
Turns out it was just a fruit juice, not so toxic!
