Of Force & Abuse

Every year they come around and show their force just to show their force,
Every year I think I grow a little less resistant,
A little more as the bruised housewife must feel.
Soon it will be the Hunger Games if we don’t watch it,
People think I am an alarmist but I’m not,
I have read the history books that they were too lazy to,
I know what the Nazis really did, and it was far worst than is in the mainstream.
Every year its clock work the same day and the same time,
They come to take almost of half of what I have risked everything to make,
Because they think they can spend it better than me?
Because I am more successful than most and must be punished the most?
Because I am a citizen in the nation of the free and of democracy?
Yes they say, all of that is true if that is what you wish to believe,
But it doesn’t matter what you believe, it belongs to us now.
What do they do with those thousands of hours of concentration and misery,
Ha! They give it away to the people who don’t work even a day of the year.
They send rockets to explore the moons of Jupiter,
They wage wars control strips of desert lands thousands of miles from anywhere.
They even raise their own salaries!
But people like me will have the last laugh
how do I know their taking by force and greed won’t last?
I have faith in the good and the fair will prevail,
Rise up, Rise up now
I pray.
