If I had an hour to live

I would find the people that have left me, broken me, given up on me and tell them hello.
I would chase down the Dad that never was and look him in the same aurora of brown eyes and tell him that it was me and I was there to say hello.
I wouldn’t listen to his words or to his excuses, the story he made up for the week or the family he was pretending to be a part of.
I would find the boy that first stole my heart, the one who first broke it, and the one that still has it and tell him hello.
Nothing more than just a greeting.
I don’t want the conversation or the awkward silence, just the last time of us meeting.
I would keep the secret that it was my last hour and just walk around smiling and saying hello to the people that have said goodbye.
I don’t need the explanation of why they left, said what they said, or behaved the way they did.
I just want the last image I hold of them to be there eyes when they face me and say hello.
I want it to be when they say hello I have the power to walk away and leave them with the goodbye.
