Take My Independence Away
At what point is it ok to take someone’s independence away;
at what point is it ok for you to take away their say.
Is it too hard to deal with,
why is it ok for you to decide this?
I hate that I have to stand by,
I hate that, to your home you must say goodbye.
Never tell me it has to be,
Never talk of such things to me.
It is wrong in every way,
I hope you all experience the same fate one day.
Written for my beautiful Grandma who has lived 93 amazing years and still going strong, she has buried a husband, son, grandson and too many other people to list and because of a setback in her health, that she has recovered from, certain family have taken her rights away and made the decision to put her into a nursing home, it makes my heart hurt. I am so sorry I can't help Grandma ❤️.
