Making Maple Syrup
As the chill of Winter gives way to the warmth of Spring
Sap: The lifeblood of the trees
Starts its journey upward from the roots to the branches above
While true in all trees, it is the Maple who calls the gatherer
Small holes are drilled into the tree,
Allowing the collection of this elixir
Taps and tubing divert the sap to buckets below
Heat and Time yield a form of liquid gold:
Maple Syrup
Gathered by few,
Coveted by many
