Turn (Icarus Presently)
deviation from the flight of Icarus
There a man, turned, treading towards the light.
His sight focused, forever upon the sun
His denial blinds him from his flaws and scars. Yet exposed, he, unknowing for all to shun
incessant in direction, unable to see behind
afraid he is that he would find
ever his shadow hunting and so despised
yet in light, evident and undisguised
Do all else perceive his time squandered and ambition unrealized?
and as the sun entrances, so enhances his will to abide
it will hide and resist him from confronting his darker side
yet a sun goes down, as suns often do
killing the form of what he knew
and the shadow behind him grew and grew
and upon his heels it stalked then walked into a ghost
A part of him it is and ignorant its host
and soon a ghost himself he will be become
and to its whims assuredly so, succumb
so turn around should he to late
in that moment the sun declines
He will find behind, his shaming fate
In last light look, where last light shines
and find entwined his being in such a state.
with it a shadow that has grown taller than he grew
and in the last flash of the setting sun, golden, purple then blue
Inevitable imto black his shadow will swallow him whole
and there in the rising black, where time takes its tole
in a ceaseless march into darkness, he, a shadow, a phantom, a wraith
and none will see a turn to late, none to save, no hope, no faith
a trudge till death into a nights night, a void, a blackening hole
for see not a difference by now will he, between his shadow and his soul.

this is another poem hinting at addiction...or denial and the revelation that if you turn to late your already to late to fix yourself in view of others...your loved ones...Icarus...if you fly to close to the sun ..or in my deviation...if you stare at the sun to long you get burnt and never see around you at what your truly doing to yourself and others...you become something you never wish to a ghost or shell of your former self ...a shadow and soon as you become more shadow than man ...the shadow will swallow you whole and your soul once light and innocent now dark and unable to return..i don't know..this is a really sad one for me ..the rest is open for interpretation..

It's personal and directly speaks from the soul of the writer and to take their work and say it's yours ..it's wrong and unnatural ..your stealing a peice of them ...it's nothing to do with money or rights...it's so much more than that...its happened to me .. It can happen to anyone .. It hurts and I always speak out against it even if to most it seems pretentious..
